Product Overview The "OpenPBX" is a complete (CTI) office PBX telephone system built into a PC ISA Plug-in card. Each board can handle 4 incoming telephone lines and 12 extensions, with a maximum upgrade to 32 lines and 192 extensions. See system requirements.
The OpenPBX card is an Analog switching PBX, enabling the system to use non-proprietary low-cost single and/or multi-line standard type telephones. Telephones used by the OpenPBX system can be two wire standard 2500 or 500 sets with or without messaging lights and speakerphones. OpenPBX gives each telephone station over 45 functions and features such as: Speed dial numbers; three-way conferencing; call forwarding; receptionist/operator messaging; call transfer; etc. Also, a simple telephone ACD (Automatic call distribution) can be configured quickly using the OpenPBX. Without additional interface cards, OpenPBX easily accommodates existing analog equipment such as fax, answering machines, printers, etc. The OpenPBX can also integrate into your LAN, allowing the operator console to be "moved" to alternate positions, and giving you the ability to configure the system over the net without having to take the system off line. OpenPBX allows small business management for the first time to command and control their own telephone network through the PC screen by controlling the features and call restrictions of each telephone extension without costly service and maintenance calls. The Screen displays call usage information graphically, including overviews of the whole system, individual extension status, message waiting, and system messages. Additionally, call reports can be created from the SMDR and printed, and downloaded to any database for sorting and publication. With the addition of the CompuPhone 2000 telephone keyboard (Approx. $120) the OpenPBX comes standard with a built in Operator/Receptionist console
which gives your receptionist single key power over many standard operator functions. With most PBX systems the Operator Console add-on feature would cost between $2500-$4500. The combination of the easy to understand PC screen and the telephone keyboard makes the task of training anyone to be a receptionist a snap! The OpenPBX comes as a complete turnkey communications system with PBX cards, software pre-installed, installation/ maintenance manuals, and user guides. User installation is possible (ask about starter kits!) and local installation can be provided. The system can also be easily integrated with Voice Mail, IVR, Fax back, Fax-on-demand and other Computer telephony applications through in-band signaling. The OpenPBX is a PC based full featured, real PBX Telephone System. This is not a Fax/Voice/Modem card with software like many advertised PC based Telephony products.
